Long before Doug Beckner begins building a home for a customer, he builds a relationship with them. For him, making life better for customers means gaining an understanding of where they’re coming from, not just how many bedrooms they want. As a lifelong resident of Indiana, he knows the people and the communities well. That goes a long way to alleviating much of the stress that can come with building a home. “We put ourselves in our customers’ shoes,” he says, “and treat them the way we’d want to be treated.”
OUR STORY
Doug was initially drawn to the homebuilding industry by of the allure of creating something lasting and meaningful in peoples’ lives. Early in his career, he had the opportunity to join a mid-sized building company in Indianapolis and jumped at it. He was with them from the start-up phase, learning all that he could about all aspects of the industry. As the company grew, so did his roles and responsibilities. Finally, after ten years as a division president, he decided it was time to pursue another goal, that of owning his own business.
He founded Pendle Creek Homes with the support of National Builder Group. It’s a partnership that enables him to focus on building exceptional homes while NBG provides capital, blueprints, and back-office support.
